About This Policy

Pawly is a personal daily journal for pets. This Policy explains how Pawly ("we", "us") handles information for pet profiles, daily notes, activity records, photos, calendar browsing and gold coin purchases used to add additional pets.

1. Account Information

We collect your registration email address, account identifier and authentication information needed to register and sign you in. We use this information to maintain and protect your account and respond to account-related requests. Your email address is not published as a community profile.

2. Pet Profiles, Entries and Photos

The app processes the pet names, photos and birthdays you provide, together with daily notes, entry dates and activity categories such as diet, playtime, bathroom habits and health. It uses this information to display each pet's profile, organize entries, show them in the calendar, let you edit entries and let you switch between pets.

Your pet profiles, daily entries and photos are stored locally on your phone. Pawly does not upload these records or photos to its servers. Registering an account does not create an online copy of your journal. We cannot access or recover local-only journal data from our servers.

A pet's birthday refers to the pet, not your own date of birth. Avoid including unnecessary personal information about yourself or other people in notes or photos.

3. Photo Access and Device Permissions

Photos you choose to add are used for the relevant pet profile or journal entry. Any permission needed to add a photo is requested when required, with its purpose explained at that time. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Declining a permission affects the features that need it. Permission to add photos does not authorize unrelated use of your photo library.

4. Gold Coins and Purchase Records

The app processes the information needed to distinguish the free first pet from subsequent pets, your gold coin balance and coin-spending records. This applies the one-time 50-gold-coin charge for each additional pet and keeps daily logging, photos and calendar browsing free for all pets.

Apple processes coin payments through In-App Purchase. We process purchase confirmations and transaction information needed to verify purchases, credit coins and resolve purchase or delivery problems. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple. Apple handles payment information under its own privacy terms.

5. Support

When you contact us, we receive your email address and information you include in the message. We use it to respond and resolve your issue. Send only relevant details. If you send notes, photos or screenshots to support, we receive that material as part of your request. Do not send passwords or full payment-card details.

6. Purposes and Legal Bases

We use information for the features and purposes described above, to protect service security, respond to requests and meet legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our agreement for core services and purchases; legitimate interests in security and resolving issues, balanced against your rights; legal obligations for required records; and consent where required.

Agreement to the User Agreement and device permissions are not blanket consent to unrelated processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

7. Disclosure

Your pet journal is personal and is not published to other users. Protect access to your phone because your pet records and photos are stored there. Providers supporting account hosting and service operation may process account or purchase information only as needed to perform their tasks on our behalf. We restrict their use to the agreed purposes and require protection at least equivalent to this Policy and applicable requirements. This does not authorize access to your local pet records or photos.

Apple handles purchase information as described above. We may disclose information in our possession in response to valid legal requirements or where lawfully necessary to resolve disputes or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

8. Retention and Security

Local pet profiles, journal entries and photos remain on your phone until removed. Removing the app and its local data through your device's app-deletion controls removes the local journal; offloading the app may retain data. Any copies included in device backups are managed through your device or backup service. Account deletion does not itself remove separately retained device backups. We retain account information while reasonably needed to provide the account and resolve related requests.

We retain purchase and support records only as reasonably needed for their purpose, unresolved transactions or disputes, or legal recordkeeping obligations. We delete or irreversibly anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

We use reasonable safeguards for the information we handle. No system guarantees complete security. Protect access to your device and any login information.

9. Deletion and Privacy Rights

You can initiate account deletion within Pawly. Following deletion, we delete or irreversibly anonymize associated personal information we hold, except limited records needed for legal obligations or unresolved transactions or disputes. Retained information is restricted to that purpose and kept only for the necessary period. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account. We cannot delete local-only pet records or photos remotely; manage that data on your phone, including by removing the app and its local data through your device settings.

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information we hold about you. Depending on applicable law, you may also request portability, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent or complain to a data-protection authority. We may verify your identity to protect your information and will respond within applicable legal deadlines. We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.

10. Changes

We will make updates available in the app and notify you of material changes, obtaining consent where required. The date above identifies the latest version. Contact us if you have questions about this Policy or your information.
